In many instances the culprit is a worn 1-2 capacity modulator bore. The second clutch oil will leak past the outer balance spool and exhaust, creating insufficient clutch pressure. This can be seen on a gauge or valve body test machine as low 2nd clutch pressure that does not stabilize and fill completely until the road speed allows a shift to 3rd gear. Valve is manufactured from hard-coat anodized aluminum to prevent bore wear. Kit includes an O-ringed end plug that prevents 2nd gear oil from exhausting through the bore. Three spring weights are included in the 76991-01K kit to allow for more precise shift calibration.
