Coast clutch valve 4R44E, 5R55E • Valve • Spring • O-Ring • End Plug The Sonnax oversized coast clutch valve kit 37947-33K and tooling salvages the valve body and restores proper coast clutch function in either style unit. • Oversized valve allows valve body to be refurbished and salvaged. • Hard-coat anodized valve resists wear. • Elongated front spool adds stability and prevents blow-by leakage. • Annular groove centers the valve hydraulically to prevent wear. • Recalibrated spring provides proper regulating pressure for oversized valve. • O-ringed end plug positively seals bore to help maintain coast clutch and TCC pressures. Symptoms: • No 2nd (5R44E/55E) • No 4th (4R44E/55E) • No 5th (5R44E/55E) • No coast clutch apply • No engine braking in D3 to low Cause: Wear at the coast clutch valve bore or oil loss across the plug that separates the coast clutch valve from the converter regulator valve. The overdrive servo release oil will not vent to allow servo apply. Correction: The Sonnax oversized coast clutch valve kit allows the valve body bore to be refurbished to restore the proper clearance with the valve and eliminate leakage. NOTE: Although this valve can be used on any valve body independent of other repairs, we strongly suggest this kit be used with Sonnax Converter Regulator Sleeve Kit37947-09K.
