Governor valve A500,A518,42RE,46RE • Sonnax valve is made from hard-coat anodized aluminum for better wear resistance than the OE valve • Includes longer valve land for better support to reduce bore wear and maintain shifting consistency • Valve can also be installed into new governor bodies to prevent future wear from occurring • Use of this valve will not change shift timing/governor pressure from OE calibration WARNING: Not for use as OE steel valve replacement. If used to replace OE steel valves, early upshifts may occur. Symptoms: • 2nd Gear starts • Early upshifts • Late upshifts Cause: The primary governor valve wears or sticks, creating erratic governor oil pressure. Correction: The Sonnax wear-resistant governor valve has longer lands and more support area. Fits ‘90-‘03 units only. Not for use as OE steel valve replacement.
